1X has published a technical update on the hands used by NEO. The design uses tendon-driven actuation and 25 degrees of freedom, with the company focusing on dexterous manipulation in human environments.

Hand design matters directly to domestic work: crockery, clothing, handles and clutter all punish simple grippers. The update improves the hardware record for NEO without changing our reliability assessment for individual household jobs.
